Event

This year the Friends of Medway Archives (FOMA) celebrates twenty years of supporting the Medway Archives Centre (MAC).

The display charts the extraordinary history of FOMA, chronicled over the years in its journal, 'The Clock Tower'. Shaped by the people who have supported it, both locally and overseas, FOMA has continued to support the Medway Archives Centre. FOMA instigates and takes part in a wealth of fascinating heritage projects, from the Victoria County History to the Live Bait Squadron and Isaac Newell, FOMA continues to champion local stories.

One of FOMA's greatest achievements has been the creation of its FOMA De Caville Index, a free fully searchable, cross-referenced list of over 4,000 individuals from the Medway area who perished in World War One. It is one of the most comprehensive online research resources and since its launch in August 2014, the FOMA De Caville Index has been viewed by over 420,000 global users.

The display runs until Saturday, 30 May during normal opening hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturday 9am to 12.30pm, closed on Wednesday and Sunday). It is free to view.
