Medway Archives Centre is pleased to be hosting this touring exhibition, created by The Historic Dockyard Chatham, which will be on display in the foyer at Medway Archives Centre
The exhibition highlights key events over the last 40 years including the run down to closure and formation of Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust. It includes key milestones like the re-opening of the site as a visitor attraction, the arrival of the 'Three Historic Ships', discovery of the NAMUR timbers and preservation of key historic buildings through commercial re-use.
The Historic Dockyard Chatham is using this year to commemorate the closure and the devastating impact it had on the local community, celebrate the preservation of the 80-acre historic site including key achievements during this period, and re-engage audiences through an exciting programme of events, giving everyone the opportunity to be part of the dockyard's story now and in the future.
The exhibition runs from Tuesday, 26 March to Monday, 8 April 2024. Weekdays 9am to 5pm, Saturdays 9am to 12.30pm (closed Wednesdays and Sundays).
