Ministry of Defence land on which Gordon Barracks had stood was passed to the Department of Health and Social Security for the improvement of health service provision. Most of the 15 acre site was not needed, so the proposal to sell it was made. This brief describes the site and Gillingham Borough Council's guidelines for development of it.
