The Tuffs were an influential family in Rochester. Cecil, Charles and Noel Tuff all fought in WW1 and two of the brothers- Cecil and Noel- died in conflict. Charles was active in local politics and public service and lived until 1961. He was both a County Councillor and a Bridge Warden.Martin Stoneham is a military historian and researcher and is currently Chair of the Friends of the Royal Engineers Museum.
